Brian Epstein and The Beatles A Music Revolution
The modest church hall on Royal Street, where these monumental decisions were made, remains an understated but vital piece of football history. Royal Street's influence extends beyond football. In 1950, the Epstein Family Shop on Royal Street provided an unlikely starting point for one of the most important figures in modern music: Brian Epstein, the manager of The Beatles. Working in his grandparents’ shop, Epstein developed the business skills that would later help him catapult The Beatles to global stardom. By the early 1960s, Epstein’s management of The Beatles helped the group become one of the most successful and influential bands of all time. From Liverpool to the world stage, The Beatles redefined popular music with over 600 million records sold worldwide. And it all began on the unassuming streets of Royal Street, where Epstein’s first foray into business set him on a path to change music history forever.
