Al Jazeera understood the inevitability and importance of digitisa- tion, which had changed the way we communicate and access content, bringing the network into this very spirit in the process. This philos- ophy is what moved Al Jazeera to diversify its media projects (news websites) and digital innovations, shedding light on its various aspects (intellectual, cultural, educational/formal and social). It is a continuous effort striving to expand Al Jazeera’s circle of influence in the public sphere. These digital expansions were appropriate to the times and were coupled with the network’s initiative and leadership both technically and editorially. This is likely what made Al Jazeera’s digital platforms so appreciated by professional international organisations and global research institutions.
