Balkans (1) , Al Jazeera America (2) , Al Jazeera Documentary (3) , and Al Ja- zeera Sports (4) . Besides the television channels, research also covered AJ+ (5) , Al Jazeera.Net (6) , and the Network’s Training and Development Centre (7) . 5. From Studying the Phenomenon to Researching its Impact After examining this massive body of literature, it is fair to say academic research on Al Jazeera has covered nearly every aspect of the Network’s operations. It is also important to note that a unique research trend has gradually evolved from studying Al Jazeera in terms of news coverage, content, editorial policy, discourse, structure, components etc. to studying its impact. One of the leading works on this topic is (1) Dragan Petrevski, Media as Generators of Media Memes: Al Jazeera Balkans as an Exam- ple , (Master thesis, University of Maribor, Slovenia, 2018). (2) Audrey Carson, “Al Jazeera America and Strategic Responses to the ‘Perception Problem’, Cornell International Affairs Review , Vol. 8, No. 2, (2015). (3) Amal Awaida, Television and Falsification of Arab Awareness: Secret Roles of Al Jazeera Documentary Channel , (Egyptian General Book Authority, 2018). (4) See for example, Kazem Aidan Shadid’s thesis, News Coverage of Sports Events on Al Ja- zeera Sports Channel: Analysis of Al Jazeera Sports News Bulletins , (Master thesis, University of Baghdad, 2013).
