active website on 29 November 2014, www.PalestineRemix.net. The website, which houses dozens of documentary films in English, Arabic, Bosnian, and Turkish, is the first of its kind in the Arab world and be- yond. One of the features of this site is the ability to navigate the films by clicking on any part of the text to go to that section in the video. Us- ers are able to use clips from Al Jazeera films on Palestine by following a simple method, giving these Al Jazeera materials on Palestine a big interactive purpose on the internet and allowing users to use the clips to tell stories in their own way and share them on social media. The word “remix” implies that the user can create their own film or story using Al Jazeera’s films and advanced technological tools (1) . Also, for the first time, users are able to search within the video (film) itself, making Pal- estine Remix the first Arabic language site using this technology. From a rights aspect, to enhance the general human rights and free- doms culture and raise awareness about these rights in media work, Al Jazeera formed a human rights department on 1 November 2008. In 2015, this department was converted to Al Jazeera Public Liberties and Human Rights Centre, with an accompanying website, Liberties.AlJa- zeera.com, in December of the same year. This website is a rights plat- form specialising in human rights and includes the centre’s experience in this field in cooperation with international rights organisations, in both Arabic and English. The information on the website raises aware- ness about the most recent developments in the field of rights and pro- motes respect for human rights and liberties in the Arab world in par- ticular, and across the globe in general (2) . The website contains a large digital library on human rights that is considered the first of its kind in the Arab world. It brings the concept of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights closer to the public and internet users and contributes to the general dissemination of a human rights-centred culture. In the context of enhancing interactions with Al Jazeera viewers, and in an effort to experience reality with all of its details, the network
