Communications Mission

Overview During the Communications Mission, Teams will participate in an interview with judges to answer questions about their Team, Drone, programming, and competition logbook documentation. Judging occurs in between Matches and a typical interview is 10 minutes. Judges will be using the Team interview rubric and competition logbook rubric to rank Teams. We encourage Teams to review and become familiar with the rubrics and supporting documents. Communications Mission Definitions Awards Judged Award - An award presented at competitions based on evaluation criteria from the Team Interview and/or the Competition Logbook. These awards may include: • All-Around Champion - The All-Around Champion is a Team that exhibits overall excellence in both the Judged Award and Performance Award categories. • Communications Mission Champion - The Communications Mission Champion is a Team with an organized, systematic, and professional approach to written and verbal communication, documentation of programming, mission strategies, safety plans, project and time management, and Team organization. • Judges Award - The Judges Award recognizes a Team that the judges felt was deserving of special Recognition. • Airmanship Award - The Airmanship Award recognizes the Team that consistently exhibits good judgment and demonstrates well-developed skills to accomplish mission objectives and is dedicated to understanding and maintaining Drone safety rules and regulations.
