explore the urgent need of areas from Thailand to Japan. Dr. H. M. Griffin, Director for North America, is to spearhead the survey of Japan in the near future, but already certain missionaries from the China Inland Mission are at home and beginning work in these new areas adjacent to China. Bills in Congress According to a news release from the Christian Amendment Movement, recently two bills were introduced in Congress including this statement: “ This Nation devoutly recognizes the authority and law of Jesus Christ, Saviour and Ruler of nations, through whom are bestowed the blessings of Almighty God.” The Hon. Joseph R. Bryson of South Carolina author of these bills, points out that in these days when we are calling upon the Almighty for guidance, victory and peace it be hooves us to give to Him the honor which is His due. The bills are now in committee with the next goal a public hearing. Ten Million Pray-ers Because of the crisis which our na tion faces, Rev. Allen E. Blegen, Di rector of the Lutheran Gospel Hour, has launched a new interdenomina tional movement hoping to enlist more than ten million prayer part ners. The plan is to pray for spirit ual revival, for the church, for a return to morality, for our nation and the world. There are no dues, funds or meetings in this new or ganization; the only stipulation is that members are asked to pray.

The Press and The Christian W o r ld Heads Christ's Mission Dr. Walter Manuel Montano, au thor, traveler, statesman and Chris tian missionary, has accepted the in vitation of the Board of Directors of Christ’s Mission, Inc., of New York City, to become its Executive Direc tor and Editor of its publication, The Converted Catholic. In his new position, Dr. Montano follows in the steps of the former priest, Dr. Leo H. Lehmann. This unique ministry has given aid to more than 300 former Roman Cath olic priests and has freely and widely distributed literature designed to en lighten Protestants and Roman Cath olics alike, especially with a view to the reception of Christ as Saviour. Indian Correspondence School According to a recent letter from Rev. Don Hillis, more than 5,000 stu dents are enrolled in a new corre spondence school now in India. The material is published in three dif ferent languages, English, Marathi and Hindi, but plans are already under way to publish courses in the various vernacular languages of that land. Mr” Hillis reports that there are numbers who manifest a real heart hunger for the written word and a desire for everlasting life through Christ Jesus. India’s popula tion is well over 350 millions, and the need for the Word of God is tremen dous. A Different Vacation Bible School Here is one, where your church is transformed into a ship with state rooms, decks, galley, passengers, of ficers, tickets, log, ship’s bells, even a brig, and where the interest of pas sengers as well as officers is sustained throughout the cruise. The origina tor of this unique course is Mrs. Ethel Billings Hansen, now on fur lough from missionary work among the young business women of Alaska. This interesting course has been used by many churches throughout the United States, Hawaii and Alaska with marked results. It is also an at tractive program for Child Evangel ism classes. New Horizons The China Inland Mission is now preparing to enter new fields, accord ing to latest word from Bishop Houghton, General Director. In a re cent conference convened near Mel bourne, it was unanimously agreed that the China Inland Mission should
