Objects: Twenty-five too thp ick s bound together with a rubber band. Lesson: Did you ever see a good ball game where there was no team work? No, I am sure you never did. You must have teamwork in the game of life, too, if you want to win. As long as these toothpicks have teamwork and allow this rubber band to bind them together, it would be very difficult to break them. One, alone, can be broken easily. But, no tice, the rubber band pulls the tooth picks back as soon as I start pulling one away.

Objects: A correspondence envelope and a red cardboard cross. (Cut a slot in the front of the envelope 1 inch wide and 6 inches long. In this slot, on the uncut side of the envelope print the word “PKEACH.” The base of the cross should be the same width as the envelope and about 1% inches in depth. The crossarm and upright of the cross should be 1 inch wide. Cut the upper end of the envelope off, in order that the cross may be inserted.) Lesson: How many words do you see on this envelope? I hear you say “ One.” Apparently you are right, but I am speaking to you about Hidden Words, and I want you to be careful, lest you miss seeing some words, which at first do not appear. In Luke 4:18 we read, “ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliver ance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.” The word “ PREACH” means to herald or proclaim. We will now start hunting for the hidden words. I will move the red cross down a little, covering the letter “ P” and we now see the word “ REACH.” Christ wanted to preach in order that He might reach those who were in need. Next, we move the cross down until the “ R” is covered, and we discover the word, “ EACH.” Christ preached in order that He might reach each indi vidual. Since Jesus has gone back to Heav en, He needs those who will carry on His work here on the earth. In Mark 16:15 we read, “And he said unto

MAK ING PLANS FOR THE FUTURE?

This bundle of toothpicks reminds me of the people of God, who are bound together with the cords of love. A church which is bound together with the love of God will stand against all the powers of Satan. As long as the rubber band holds them together, the toothpicks stand. (Stand them on end.) They have to stand together or they fall. They have to have teamwork. When Nehemiah returned to Jeru salem to rebuild the walls, it was nec essary that there should be teamwork. First, there had to be teamwork with God. Unless the people worked with God and did the things He wanted them to do, their work would be use less. Then, too, the people had to have teamwork with Nehemiah. He could not do all the work himself. Not only did they have teamwork, but they were bound together with the cords of loyalty to their leader and of trust in God. On numerous occasions the enemies tried to break the teamwork of Nehe miah and his workers, but they were unsuccessful. The work progressed, and the walls were completed. God is looking for people in this day who are willing to do teamwork and remain bound together with the cords of love. When He finds them, He uses them for His service.
