Paul. When we open this piece of paper.we read, “ COMFORTS, COLD, RAINS and BITE.” Of course these were only a few of the things the Apostle Paul suffered in order that he might give the free gospel to the lost. If we are true to the Lord it will cost us something to deliver the gospel to the lost. June 24, 1951 B oys and B’ s Objects: A strong chain, a bolt and a compass. Lesson: I want to talk to you this morning about 3 “ B’s.” This strong chain reminds me of the first “ B.” In Second Timothy 2:1, the Apostle Paul told Timothy to be strong. The boy who wants to make the team at school must be strong. He will do the things the coach suggests in order that he may play on the team. Christ is look ing for boys and girls who will be strong for Him in the game of life. This bolt suggests the second “ B.” It says to me, be sturdy. In Second Timothy 2:3, Paul said: “ Endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” A soldier endures hardship for the sake of his country. The foot ball player never complains about the scratches and bumps he receives in the game. If the soldier and the football player go through hard things with out complaining, don’t you think the Christian should do -as much for Christ ? This compass reminds me of the third “ B,” which we find in Second Timothy 2:4. Paul wanted Timothy to be separated from worldly things, and he said, “ No man that warreth en- tangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” He wanted Timothy to go straight. The compass helps the travelers on land and sea to go straight. As far as we can learn from the New Testament, Timothy was a good soldier of Jesus Christ, obeying the commands given through Paul. The Lord is looking for people today who will be good soldiers, obeying the com mand to be strong, sturdy, and sepa rated. T H E K I N G ’ S B U S I N E S S

Objects: Two pieces of paper 8% x ll inches. (Fold the ends of each to with in % inch of the middle, leaving gaps of Yz inch. In this space, on both of the papers, print the word “ COST.” Unfold the flaps and using the letters m m h 'I CROSS C0MF<$ BLOOD ,rc COLD SACRlf0 RAINS DEATH BITE 1 B 1 in the word “ COST,” on one paper comp lete the fo llow in g w ords, “ CROSS, BLOOD, SACRIFICE and DEATH.” On the other paper, follow ing the same instructions, complete the w ords, “ COMFORT, COLD, RAINS and BITE.” Fold the flaps over the middle, leaving the word “ COST” showing on each.) Lesson: How many of you know how much your clothes cost? I hear someone say, “My clothes didn’t cost, me anything, my Dad gave them to me.” Yes, in most cases your parents gave you your clothes, but we should not forget that they had to pay for them. We often speak of the gospel as being free, forgetting that it cost more than we can ever realize. Here is a piece of paper on which the word “ COST” is printed. We will let it remind us of the cost of salvation to Christ. When we open this paper we read, “ CROSS, BLOOD, SACRIFICE and DEATH.” Now we see that sal vation cost Christ the agony of the cross, His precious blood offered as a sacrifice, causing His death for sin ners. It is wonderful to know that salvation is free so far as we are concerned, but we should never forget the great cost it was to Christ. We have another piece of paper, and on it we have the word “ COST.” We will let it remind us of some of the things it cost the Apostle Paul to give the gospel to others. There is a very interesting account given in the 28th chapter of Acts where several things are mentioned, including the bite of a snake, as part of the cost to MUSICAL COWBELLS, SLEIGHBELLS, CHORD- ed Clusters, Glasses, 440 pitch, choice of range, time payments.
