The tradition started as a club family picnic in the ‘70s at the pic- turesque park and a barbecue lunch has always been included.
The Central Coast Street Rods will continue their “No Entry Fee” 53rd Fun Run this year. The NSRA affiliate club was founded in 1972 on the Central Coast of California, including members from Santa Maria, Solvang, Buellton and Lompoc. Today the club membership includes most- ly Lompoc-area residents, but encourages new members from all of Santa Barbara County. Membership includes cars manu- factured through 1972. The club hosts its annual Fun Run at Nojoqui Park, just 6 miles south of Solvang, California, on the first Sunday of November.
Woodie’ from the forlorn condition it was in when it came home to the cool looking ride it turned out to be. All the work was done in the home’s garage except for the rolling chassis by Scotts Hotrods ‘n Customs and the upholstery and glass. Whether building a project car, cruising around this great country, or gathering with a small group of friends for a picnic, it all adds up to NSRA members having “Fun With Cars!”—ED
Many rodders arrive early to enjoy hot coffee and donuts as they shine their cars after the early morning drive to the park. The Fun Run proceeds (all dona- tions) support four local high school automotive shops. Often, one of the high schools will dis- play their drag cars at the event so participants can learn more about this youth activity and spur interest in the students’ activities.
