Rocky Mountain Garage Tours

By Judie & Eric Rawls

E arly arrivals for the 40th Rocky Mountain Street Rod Nationals gathered at Milberger Farms on Wednesday, June 25, and after breakfast and sweet rolls embarked with the Outlaws Car Club on the 2025 Rocky Mountain Garage Tour. The first stop was a visit to Justin Manweiler and his family’s shop and car collection. Greeting us outside was his ‘62 409, four- speed, ‘Bubble Top’ Chevy. Next to the Chevy was a black-on-black ‘63 Ford Galaxy sporting a 427 and four-speed. Several other col- lectables were residing in the

building, including a ‘68 Shelby GT 500 and a ‘60 Buick wagon. After a drive to the north side of Pueblo, we arrived at Nash Baros’ shop and after checking out his bright yellow ’34 five-win- dow out front and the other cars in the shop, we all enjoyed his collection of die-cast race cars. Next, we motored south across Hwy 50 to Ed Renck’s garage and his 260mph Model A Bonneville record holder. Ed fired the A in the shop and had also invited Victor Sanchez and son Benny to bring the family’s blown fuel Chrysler competition roadster cackle car.

When it was fired, the whole north side of Pueblo heard it! When our hearing returned, we traveled to Lyle Anderson’s garage. It’s home to three Hudsons, a ‘33 Ford pickup, and a mid ‘60s F-100. Moving along, we arrived at our last garage stop, the garages of Les Robinson and the amazing collection of Domonica and Rick Esgar. Les has two garages, one housing ‘39 and ‘40 Ford coupes, a ‘57 Chevy and a ‘70 Mustang. The second shop has a ‘52 Ford pickup under construction. We’ve been to the Esgar’s before, and as I wrote after
