I happened upon this pickup waiting to talk to the builder, Joel at Nobody Customs about other busi- ness, and while admiring Doug and Shelia Roshong’s ’72 Chevy C10, Shelia started telling me about the ride. I had questions and Sheila had answers and before long Joel arrived, but I had already decided this was one C10 worthy of a photo session. Johnny Horton, Shelia’s dad, was the first in the family to own the truck and he had also bought a complete ’96 C4 Corvette for the parts to start the build. Sadly, his health got in the way and eventually everybody decided that Sheila and Doug would build it with the help of Nobody Customs so
dad could see and enjoy the pickup before he passed, and the Roshong’s would have a forever memory of pops. The stock chassis was cleaned up, reinforced, par- tially boxed, new crossmembers fabricated, and the ’96 Corvette mounting cages adapted. The C4 front suspension features a coilover conversion, polished forged aluminum A-arms, rack and pinion steering, and forged aluminum Corvette brakes. The rear C4 rear suspension also has a coilover conversion, forged A-arms, a posi differential, and forged aluminum disc brakes. The ’96 LT1 has been updated with a Holley Terminator Max fabricated individual runner intake
