A greener chemical society plays a vital role in creating a greener future. Chemists have the responsibility of ensuring a well-protected and sustainable environment - leaving no stone unturned. In the field of natural chemistry, sustainability begins with inclusivity of custodians of indigenous resources, continues with minimal depletion and maximized replacements of precious reserves, and includes usage of ‘greener’ reagents/solvents that cause no harm to the environment. In the study of Phytochemical Investigation of Boscia albitrunca , strict regulations around sustainable harvesting methods are followed. The Dingaka Association of Botswana, who are the custodians of indigenous medicinal knowledge are the regulating body of these. Deforestation laws have also been reinforced and usage of solvents such as water, ethanol, and methanol are highly being promoted to protect the environment. All these are in effort and in line with building a responsible chemical society working towards a ‘greener’ future. Key words: Natural Chemistry, Sustainability, Boscia albitrunca
