The aimed was to evaluate the knowledge, perception and consumption of native fruits among adolescents in pre-university schools. The data collection methodology was carried out in two semi- urban pre-university School by distributing a questionnaire to students, with previously prepared questions. knowledge and consumption of around seven most common native fruits, based on perception, the benefits of consuming these fruits, as well as knowing the sociodemographic characteristics of students. The study covered a total of 244 students aged between 16 and 18 with an average of 17 years. From the survey, 85 (35%) were male and 159 (65%) were female, of which 139 (57%) were in the 11th grade and 105 (43%) in the 12th grade. From the results obtained, the known native fruits were: Adansonia digitata , Dialium schlechteri , Salacia krausii , Strychnos spinosa and Vangueria infausta with citation intervals of 58% to 100%, for knowledge, and 42% to 95% for consumption. Of the two lesser-known and consumed fruits ( Landolphia kirkii and Strychnos madasgacariense ), a low percentage was reported, 11-30 per cent for knowledge and 7-22 per cent for consumption.
