BIFA Young Forwarder Network goes behind the scenes at Port of Dover
T he British International Freight Association (BIFA) recently hosted an insightful and inspiring event for members of its Young Forwarder Network (YFN), bringing together 15 young professionals from across the country for an exclusive behind- the-scenes visit to the Port of Dover. This special visit offered a unique opportunity for attendees to deepen their understanding of freight operations at one of Europe’s busiest roll-on/roll-off ports. The day combined informative briefings with guided tours, providing firsthand insight into the challenges and innovations shaping cross-border trade, customs procedures and logistics management in the post- Brexit environment. The event was made possible through the generous support and collaboration of key industry figures. Special thanks go to Tim Dixon from Motis, who provided a detailed overview of the transport and logistics operations within the Motis facility at Dover, helping attendees understand the day-to- day realities of keeping trade flowing through the UK’s borders.
