BRING THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS HOME Watch ‘ The Chosen ’
The response was stunning. “The Chosen” became the highest- paid crowdfunded TV show of all time, reaching over $10 million for its first season. Part of the success was Jenkins’ transparency; every contribution was an investment regulated by the SEC, not a donation. You don’t have to pay to watch the show, either. It’s available to stream completely free on iOS, Android, or your computer. Many of the actors are also people of color, which was an intentional choice by Jenkins. “We’re not trying to get big stars ... this is a show that’s set in the Middle East, and we want to accurately reflect that,” Jenkins said. “Also, the area where we set the show, Capernaum, was a trade route. And so there were many different ethnicities and countries reflected … I think that on the spiritual level, I think it’s a great opportunity to showcase all the barriers that Jesus broke down.” Jenkins has done a breathtaking job. Not only is the show beautifully shot with amazing set designs, but you’ll also be awed by the delicate way Jesus is portrayed. Jenkins relayed to the Chicago Sun-Times, “Telling the story of Jesus requires a lot of attention to detail and consideration of the audience because he’s the most important figure in history for billions of people … And we also believe that the audience trusts us more, knowing that the content is in our hands and that we’re not influenced or inspired by anyone else.” If you’d like to put a little more Jesus into your Christmas celebration, there are few better ways to capture your family — young and old — than by watching “The Chosen.” Download the app and stream it today! We hope you give it a shot!
Jesus used to tell jokes, laugh, and dance with his friends. In many Biblical projects that display an image or personification of Jesus, that side of him isn’t always visible.
However, this is the side of Him you will see in “The Chosen,” a multi-season TV show about the life of Christ.
With an incredible 4.98 Rotten Tomatoes audience rating, director Dallas Jenkins never expected to direct “The Chosen” at such a large scale after his previous box office flop, “The Resurrection of Gavin Stone.” The show “The Chosen” is based on a short film that Jenkins made as a favor for a church friend. After his friend saw it, he recommended that Jenkins post it online to start crowdfunding for a whole series.
