GRECON PARTICLE-VIEW 2D: RECOGNISES PROCESS PROBLEMS IN CHIPBOARD PRODUCTION BEFORE REJECTS OCCUR
GreCon PARTICLEVIEW 2D uses state-of-the-art image processing to analyse the particle geometry of chipboard in real-time - regardless of size, shape or distribution. Particle geometry as a quality factor in particleboard production The geometry of wood particles significantly influences the properties of the final board. In particular, the surface-to-volume ratio determines how effectively glue adheres – and thus how stable and high-quality the end product is. Irregular particles lead to inconsistent board quality, increased glue usage and visible surface defects. PARTICLEVIEW 2D detects such deviations early – before waste occurs. Precise inline measurement for better processes Where previously only sample-based or indirect process control was possible, GreCon PARTICLEVIEW 2D enables continuous inline monitoring of particle geometry in real-time without interfering with production flow. The collected data forms the basis for targeted optimisation of flaking and glueing processes. Early identification of issues, such as clogged screens or wear on the flaker, allows manufacturers to intervene quickly, stabilise processes, and increase material efficiency. How PARTICLEVIEW 2D works In particleboard production, the geometry of wood particles plays a critical role – especially regarding the glueing effectiveness and the mechanical properties of the final board. Depending on the shape and size of the particles, the surface-to-volume ratio changes – a key parameter for quality.
