Uranium breaks down to radium, which then decays into radon gas. This gas can move up through the soil into the atmosphere or be drawn into a building or home. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) and the U.S. Geological Survey have identified Carbon, Duchesne, Grand, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier and Uintah Counties in Utah as a Zone 1 Counties, areas with the potential for high radon levels based on the local geology, radon tests in these Counties, and other factors. All other Counties in Utah are Zone 2 Counties, areas with the potential for medium radon levels. Seller is building the Residence to include an Active Radon Vent System. The system is located in the basement beneath the Residence where soil gases may collect and vented through the slab with a caulked piping system that rises through the attic into the atmosphere.
