Nursing News International Nurses Day International Nurses Day is an international day observed around the world on 12 May, Florence Nightingale’s birth date, each year, to mark the contributions that nurses make to society. Ryde Hospital will be celebrating on Frday 10 May this year, and we want to celebrate the dedicated nurses at Ryde Hospital. If you know any nursing staff members you appreciate or admire, please nominate them for recognition. The INMD Nomination Forms 2024 are available for all staff. It's a simple process, just fill them out and submit them before the due date on Monday, April 29th, 2024. New Graduate Nurses Ryde welcomed Welcome to the April new graduates who commenced with us on 8th April; Jade Hudson (Ward 7); Annie Henderson (Ward 3); Emma Richards (Ward 2); Monika KC (ED); and Zoe Wright (Ward 8).
Quality & Improvement Awards Ryde Submissions Congratulations to the five projects from Ryde Hospital submitted for the NSLHD Quality Improvement Awards. 1. Hearts & Quilts – Improving End-of-life care 2. Recognising Delirium – Improving early recogition of signs of delirium 3. Falls Prevention at Ryde 4. BEFAST to Recognise Stroke Symptoms 5. Technical Assistants in the Emergency Department The results are announced at the end of May 2024. Some of the winners of the NSLHD awards can be nominated for the NSW Quality Awards later in the year. Congratulations and best of luck to all the Ryde entries.
