Redevelopment Update Temporary Moves The first of the temporary moves for the redevelopment is about to occur with staff readying themselves to make the transition. From Tuesday 7 May, staff at Graythwaite Rehabilitation Centre who elected to relocate will move to Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital to work in the new rehabilitation ward, 3C. Meetings have been held between Hornsby management and Ryde rehabilitation staff as the move edges closer.
Rehabilitation, Allied Health, Aged Care and Ambulatory Care Manager Anna Butcher said staff had been busy preparing for the upcoming moves, which will be in place until the new hospital building is completed. “This has been a very busy time for the GRC staff who have been delivering care to our patients, as well as preparing themselves for the moves,” she said. Rectification works to the waterproofing in GR5 are expected to start in late May and construction activities for the temporary buildings are expected to commence on site late June, including the ICU/CCU and kitchen. The temporary relocation of Health Information Services is progressing, with works underway to refurbish a building at Macquarie Hospital to enable the relocation. Redevelopment Manager Fiona Thorn said it was a busy time for the hospital with the builder and Health Infrastructure making preparations for early construction works. “We have multiple teams pr eparing to move and there is a lot of change occurring across the site. I want to thank everyone for being so cooperative and making this process as smooth as possible,” Fiona said.
