Nestled in the beautiful Bradshaw Mountains between Phoenix and the Grand Canyon, our Western campus is renowned for its excellent seasonal weather and outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and rock climbing, to name just a few.
ROTC 9% of students on the Arizona campus enroll in the Army or Air Force ROTC program. s Our AFROTC Detachment hosts the Steven M. Scherp Squadron — winner of the 2021 MSgt John Chapman award for “the best professional officer development program for leadership, training and growth.” s The university’s AFROTC produces more commissioned officers, pilots and rated officers than any institution except the Air Force Academy. s The curriculum of Embry-Riddle Prescott is uniquely suited to prepare AFROTC cadets to be competitively selected for positions in the U.S. Space Force, and five cadets were selected for this historical opportunity in 2020. s Army ROTC was recognized as the best large Army ROTC Program in the Southwest. s Our top Army cadets are selected to participate in Air Assault, Airborne Camp and Jungle Camp, and cultural immersion in Taiwan and China, among other countries. s The Air Force Honor Corps drill teams — Sabre, Rifle, Unarmed and Color Guard — perform and compete nationally at drill events. s Army cadets undergo extensive physical and mental training to compete in the Ranger Challenge — an intercollegiate extreme sport. Training includes six-mile road marches with field gear, a tactical assault course, land navigation with map and compass and marksmanship. s Air Force cadets attend summer programs, such as parachute training, internships with innovation hubs, space orientation and cultural immersion in Taiwan and China, among other countries. s Full tuition Army ROTC scholarships and generous Air Force ROTC scholarships are available. Favorite Campus Happenings We have some amazing campus traditions. s Campus BBQ — Southwestern food and fun. s International Festival — attended by over 500 people! Enjoy international music, food, culture and fun! s Hawaii Club Luau — island food, leis and don’t forget to do the hula. s Campus Bonfire — no, we don’t light it with jet fuel! s OctoberWest — our homecoming weekend with an air show, dancing and events for undergrads. s Casino Night — games, competitions and prizes! The Club Scene Here is a sample of the 140 student run clubs and organizations reflective of the varied interests of our students. s Fraternity and Sorority Life: Three sororities and five fraternities living the values of friendship, scholarship, leadership and service. s Campus service organizations that include Horizons , the student-run newspaper; Board of Campus Activities, the student-run programming board; Student Campus Enhancement Fund, the student-run group responsible for funding campus projects; and the Student Government Association, which governs and advocates for our student body. s Professional and academic-based organizations such as Society of Women Engineers, Phi Beta Lambda, Phi Kappa Phi, Student Intelligence Association, Society of Hispanic Engineers, Society of Physics Students and Women in Aviation. s Social and special interest organizations such as the Student Veterans Organization, Nerf Club, Talonz Gaming Guild, Silver Wings, Ultimate Frisbee, Chi Alpha, Eagle Golf Club, Eagle Music Club and Craftsman’s Guild. s Active affinity groups such as the Asian Culture Club, Black Student Union, Hawaii Club, PRIDE Network and National Gay Pilots Association (NGPA).
Athletic Teams The Eagles compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). s The Eagles have captured five Cal Pac Commissioner’s Cup titles in the last six years, along with four conference titles this past year. Over the years, we’re proud to report: • 87 NAIA All-Americans • 22 Academic All-Americans • 364 Daktronics Scholar-Athletes • 63 Cal Pac Conference Championships • Nine individual wrestling national championships
Intramural, Club & Recreational Sports From rugby traditionalists to ultimate Frisbee free spirits, you can join fellow gamesters in your favorite sport. Intramurals include basketball, soccer, tennis, sand volleyball, flashball, dodgeball, flag football, ultimate Frisbee and more. Club sports offer men’s and women’s rugby and archery. As for recreational sports, check out a kayak, paddleboard or bike to explore the outdoor recreation areas Prescott has to offer. We have swimming, tennis, racquetball, volleyball, table tennis and the list goes on. And, of course, snowboarding at Arizona Snowbowl, one of three Arizona ski resorts, less than a two-hour drive away.
