N ovember invites reflection, but too often women turn gratitude into a reason to minimize what they want next. We are quick to credit the team, the timing and the family that made everything possible — and those things matter. But acknowledging support should not require you to erase your contribution to the outcome. Own it! This month, let gratitude become a success strategy. Notice the progress you have made, name the value you created and use that clarity to advocate for the next opportunity. The goal is not to be louder for the sake of being noticed. It is to become more precise about the contribution only you can make.
TAKE A WIN INVENTORY Set aside 30 minutes to list three wins from this year. Include the challenge, the action you took and the result. Did you solve a problem, grow revenue, improve a process, support a client or lead through a difficult season? Specific evidence makes your progress easier to recognize — and communicate. TURN APPRECIATION INTO ADVOCACY Thank the people who opened doors, offered advice or worked beside you. Then make one clear ask: Request feedback, explore a stretch assignment, propose a collaboration or schedule a year-end career conversation. Gratitude is most powerful when it creates connection and forward movement. BUDGET FOR WHAT MATTERS Generosity is a strength, but it does not require limitless availability. Decide what you can truly give this month — at work, at home and in your community — and protect time for rest and reflection. A sustainable definition of success includes energy for the life you are building. Your wins are yours - not a footnote to someone else’s story. In November, celebrate them with humility and ownership. When you value what you have learned and contributed, you enter the next season ready to pursue success with both gratitude and grit.
