Local business owner at 576 Talbot Street, Suzanne Faris, proudly poses: “What could be more magical than a horse- drawn wagon ride through downtown on a beautiful Christmas night? Your wish has come true! Light Up Talbot is returning on November 15th.” The idea for Light Up Talbot was the result of a pivotal discussion which pondered a challenge concerning events on this main street: “It’s just too long!”, Suzanne continues, “That’s when inspiration struck: why not offer horse-drawn wagon rides to help people visit all their favourite shops in one magical evening? Paired with our traditional tree lighting, it turned into a hallmark moment for St. Thomas.” As Suzanne avers with admiration, “I’ve always been captivated by the
heritage architecture of our beautiful downtown, and I’m thrilled to be part of its transformation. As a board member of the Downtown Development Board (DDB), I wanted to find a way to bring more people downtown and to showcase our vibrant shops and businesses.” Since debuting in 2023, Light Up Talbot is presently in preparation to return this November 15th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
