The Elgin County Railway Museum Christmas Tree Fundraiser by Peri Hayes Ashley Mason and Lindsey Massecar of the CASO Station and the Elgin County Railway Museum (ECRM) discuss the upcoming Elgin County Railway Museum Christmas Tree Fundraiser: “We organize and host all the events that take place at the CASO Station and Elgin County Railway Museum. This year, we decided to expand on the Christmas Tree Festival that took place at the Museum in 2023. We want to offer more to the community around the holiday season, so we have added other features to this event -- including four Night Markets, visits with Santa Claus with a mailbox for Santa Letters, the Hot Chocolate Stand, as well as a Polar Express display.” Entertaining activities and crafts which are geared toward the children attending this community celebration will be offered each Sunday, along with their main attraction -- the Community Christmas Tree Spectacular. This will be the second Christmas Tree event taking place at the Museum. “However,” the pair enthusiastically continue, “This year we have opened it up to local businesses and families to sponsor a tree and decorate it to be displayed in the Museum.” Asked what Ashley and Lindsey are looking forward to regarding the ECRM Christmas Tree Fundraiser, the pair delightedly respond, “We are super excited to welcome people into the space, and to experience the magic of the season.” Ashley and Lindsey express their gratitude for the various ways in which businesses around the community have contributed to this event -- sponsoring trees, as well as supporting their Hot Chocolate hut, Polar Express display, sled and Santa’s Station.
