The Ice Box and Tribal Canoe: Each Hosting their Christmas Market by Peri Hayes Owner of The Ice Box, Markus Hawco, announces their upcoming Christmas Market at the Joe Thornton Community Centre. The Ice Box has facilitated markets and film viewing in the park, as well as accumulated the revenue through their concession sales at the Joe Thornton Community Centre to present their whimsically decorated Christmas Market. Guests are welcome to attend both operational days for a unique experience, with an abundance of businesses to explore through 55 featured entrepreneurs each day. Moreover, visit with Santa Claus and enjoy the array of entertaining activities available. For example, Pearce Williams Summer Camp and Retreat Facility will be hosting a section for cookie decorating. Markus shares, “I’m looking forward to seeing people’s joy when they first walk in. We have it set up with the gym entrance rather than the main entrance. Once they grab their Holiday Cheermister voting card, they can walk through and experience the magic.” Gourmet hot chocolate, rimmed with crushed candy cane and whipped cream will be served by The Ice Box at their concession. This event is free to attend, though donations will be graciously accepted for their event fund as a means to ensure the growth of these festivities. Created with love, enjoy The Ice Box Christmas Market this December 14th from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and December 15th from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

Owner of Tribal Canoe, Chris Heil, proudly launched his business by introducing smudge kits presented in a leather box. “This displays the smudge kit in a more respectable setting,” Chris describes. Tribal Canoe has evolved through a selection of carefully crafted products, such as the leather belts recently added to his inventory. “I love making items,” Chris enthuses, “It’s even more fulfilling when people want to buy and see what you have made next.” He welcomes requests, emphasizing his enjoyment in connecting with the community in person. Chris is looking forward to participating in local vendor shows until December 14th, in addition to the St. Thomas Artisan & Crafters Christmas Market which he is hosting on December 7th from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm and on the 8th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at Grand Central Place, 300 Talbot Street. As Chris warmly invites, “Discover handcrafted gifts, enjoy seasonal treats and immerse yourself in a holiday feeling that will never stop. Our market will feature a wide variety of vendors, offering everything from artisans to crafters with a few direct sales sprinkled in. Christmas music will be hosted by myFM, Santa will be available for pictures both days, holiday drinks will be served at a small sitting area and Sunday will be Seniors’ Day.” Follow the links on the TribalCanoe.ca website for further information, and connect with Chris at chris@tribalcanoe.ca. In addition to his appreciation for those sponsoring this event, Chris concludes by expressing his gratitude for the support from his customers and loved ones.
