Iona, named in 1853, is located on the border between Southwold and Dunwich Townships and was originally known as Elliotsville. The Lumley Store is still standing and has been fully restored.

Lawrence Station was named for William Lawrence in 1872. He donated ten acres of land for the Great Western Railway station and a village site.

Left: Kingsmill, in Malahide Township, is rooted in the Canada Southern Railway. It was named in 1872 after Nicol Kingsmill, one of the railway’s original Directors. Iona Station was established in 1872 with the arrival of the Canada Southern Railway. The well-known economist and Presidential advisor John Kenneth Galbraith was born and raised just west of the village.
