Domingo Parada Farjat Born in Sucre, Bolivia – Resident of the United States
He was g raduated at the School of Art ” Zacarías Benavídes ” of the Universidad de San Francisco Xavier of Sucre, Bolivia. He attended classes at the Museo de Arte Moderna of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with Brazilian artist Ivan Serpa. Considered a pioneer, and one of the most important figures in contemporary art in Bolivia he lives in the U.S where he continues his creative career. He has exhibited his work more than in one hundred and fifty occasions in Bolivia; Argentina; Brazil; Paraguay; Chile; Portugal; Dubai; England; Mexico; France; Spain; Sweden; Italy; Hungary; Bulgaria; Canada; Austria; Greece; Switzerland; Puerto Rico, and several cities in the U.S. several times representing the U.S. and Bolivia. His work figures in cultural institutions like the Museo Charcas, Sucre, Bolivia, the Museo de Arte Moderna, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Pan- American Union, Washington D.C., U.S.A., The Phillips Collection, La Paz, Bolivia, El Diario Collection, La Paz, Bolivia, Centro Boliviano-Americano, Cochabamba, Bolivia, Centro Boliviano-Americano, La Paz, Bolivia, Centro Boliviano-Aleman, La Paz, Bolivia and Universidad Técnica de Oruro, Bolivia, Museum of the Americas, Miami, United States. Also in private collections in South America, North America, Europe and Asia. He was given a First Price at the competition of the School of Medicine, University of San Francisco Xavier, Sucre, Bolivia (1963). In Brazil by the Group Gauguin of artists of Ceará , (1964) and in the exhibition “35 th Annual Miniworks on paper”, Jacksonville State University, Alabama, U.S.A.(2014). He received the “Davina Wilson Prize” in the 15 th Annual Exhibit of Society of Painters and Sculptors of New Jersey, Jersey City, U.S.A. (1970). The M.J. Kaplan Prize in the 17thAnnual Exhibition of Painters in Casein, New York, U.S.A. (1971). The “Visual Arts Society P riz e” in the 33rd Exhibition of “Miniatures in Paper”, Jacksonville State University, Alabama. U.S.A.
