Komoka Kings Update by Paul Mylemans

The Komoka Kings 2024-2025 season-opening weekend started with a 4 – 1 home loss to the Stratford Warriors and an away 5 – 2 win in Chatham against the Maroons. The following weekend, the Kings suffered a disappointing 3 – 2 loss to the Warriors in Stratford on a goal

with 17 seconds left in the game. And though close and competitive in most games, the bots haven’t found their winning ways just yet. Early in the season, the Kings’ scoring is led by veterans Jagan Chanderdat, who has 4 goals and 4 assists in 6 games, Seth Huygen, who has 2 goals and 5 assists, and rookies Nathan Gaitens, Everett Force and Kade McGeen, who have 5 points. The Kings have also bolstered their backstop by acquiring goalie Owen Edwards from the Elmira Sugar Kings. Edwards was a 6th- round pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Draft by the Kitchener Rangers. It is always exciting when a player scores their first goal of the season or for the team. Ben Siroen, Everett Force, and Nash Coffin are showing their first-goal pucks. Upcoming home games are: Saturday, November 2 vs the St. Catharines Falcons Saturday, November 9 vs St. Thomas Stars Saturday, November 16 vs Kitchener-Waterloo Siskinds Saturday, November 23 vs LaSalle Vipers and Saturday Saturday, November 30 vs Chatham Maroons All games at the Komoka Wellness Centre starting at 7:15 pm.
