Moses died Cod was his undertak er. God made certain that the bur ial place of Moses was secure for man is an inveterate idol worship per. If the place of Moses' grave could have been uncovered, peo ple would have venerated his bones, relics, clothing and even his hair, down through the centuries. Moses was taken care of by God. Michael, knowing the power of the enemy, realized that he had tre mendous force. The archangel did not seek to put himself forward but simply admonished the devil with the words, "The Lord rebuke thee" or "Cod will take care of it!" We find further comment in verse ten, "But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves." Where there is no knowledge of the truth there is no control over the lusts of the flesh. Immorality is allowed to run ram pant. I read of a minister of a cer tain denomination who was urging people to consider their sexual appetites in the same light as they would food. If they got hungry, just go out and get involved. If they saw something they liked, just go ahead and take it. The fin al, ultimate results seemed to have little impact or concern for this man whatsoever. These apostate teachers are simply blind leaders of the blind. In the sight of God, as far as the Lord's judgments, they have absolutely nothing to say. They stand guilty and con demned for their willful disobedi ence. Perhaps you have heard of the man who was brought before the magistrate for stealing. The judge asked him the traditional question, Page 41

nation was founded? Many times, it is those who have held Cod's Word in contempt and ridicule. What is the "dominion" despised by the people as found in this verse? Ask yourself who should be rightfully given the authority over the church? The Saviour, of course. So, what these apostates are talk ing about is downgrading the per son and work of our Lord Jesus Christ. Man continually seeks to degrade the authority and dominion of God in so many ways. May the Lord help us to remain sure and stead fast; solidly anchored to that only firm foundation we have for our lives found in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ and in His eter nal Word. In verse nine of the Epistle of Jude we have an account of the power of the devil and of the dan ger of allowing the insidious trends of unbelief to enter into the lives of men and women today. Apos tasy is indeed on every hand. The warning is found in the illustration, "Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he dis puted about the body of Moses, did not bring against him a rail ing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee." While we have no other Scrip ture which bears directly on this event recorded by Jude, I believe that there are several verses which can help us understand the pic ture better, bringing it into sharper focus. In Matthew 17, we see Moses transfigured with Christ on the mount. There are some who believe that Moses, at that time, would have been pleased if God had allowed his physical body to be preserved. Remember, when
