Historic Gila Monster Birth
Congratulations are in order for Pharaoh the Gila monster! She laid an egg that went on to be- come the very first Gila monster ever hatched at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden! These venomous creatures are independent at birth, so baby won’t be relying on mom. Both Pharaoh and her hatchling are doing well, and while baby will remain behind-the-scenes, Pharaoh can be seen at the zoo’s Reptile House. Stay in the know about all the zoo’s births, events, and more by checking out cincinnatizoo.org.
