More Than Volunteers – The Heart of Local Healthcare Submitted by St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation At the core of the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH) Foundation is something truly powerful— our volunteers. Their passion, dedication, and generosity make everything we do possible. They are the heart of our efforts, ensuring that high-quality healthcare remains available for our community when it’s needed most. From the front lines of fundraising to behind-the-scenes leadership, their impact is woven into every success we achieve. Volunteers’ contributions go far beyond the time they give. From providing leadership at the Board level to lending a helping hand at special events, introducing the Foundation to new supporters, and advocating for local healthcare, their work creates lasting impact. Their dedication has made critical hospital advancements possible, most recently, under the direction of volunteer Campaign Chair, Jeff Yurek, bringing St. Thomas & Elgin County’s first MRI, enhancing ICU care and relocation of

STEGH’s Laboratory. Thanks to volunteer efforts, STEGH can continue delivering the best care possible, right here. The impact of our volunteers doesn’t stop at a single event or project. They are catalysts for something much greater — igniting a movement of generosity, community spirit, and long- term support. Their dedication inspires others to step forward, to lend their own time, skills, and resources, and to become part of something bigger. Every introduction they make, every story they share, and every hour they give strengthens our mission, ensuring that future generations will have access to the best possible care. This momentum is building. As we look ahead to the future, our community is more engaged than ever, excited for what’s next for STEGH. That excitement exists because of our volunteers, because of their belief in what’s possible and their commitment to making it happen. Their unwavering support has created a ripple effect, ensuring that future healthcare innovations, advancements, and life-saving equipment continue to be funded and available for those who need them. To our volunteers: thank you. Your time, skills, and unwavering dedication do not go unnoticed. You are more than supporters — you are leaders, mentors, and role models shaping the future of healthcare in our region. Because of you, lives are changed. If you are looking for a way to make a meaningful impact, we invite you to be part of this movement. Whether through advocacy, event support, or leadership, every effort makes a difference. By joining this community of dedicated supporters, you can help ensure that the care we rely on today continues to grow and evolve for years to come. Your time, passion, and support can change lives.
