Young Forwarder Network

Getting close to the action at Southampton We kicked off our autumn series of Young Forwarder Network events with a behind-the-scenes tour of DP World Southampton

O ur behind-the-scenes tour of DP World Southampton was superbly hosted by James Francis, DP World UK commercial manager, and Ian McCrindle, UK engineering and operations training manager. James and Ian gave a fabulous overview of the DP World group, their services and all the different types of equipment in operation at the port. Carl Hobbis, Member services director, BIFA, said: “This was another great YFN event and we thank DP World for its support of the initiative. James and Ian’s passion for the port and their

organise around the country. You can find these listed at www.bifa.org/events or the specific BIFA Young Forwarder Network LinkedIn page. All events are exclusive to employees of BIFA Member companies and are free to attend. Fun fact: Did you know the quay crane driver control cab sits 63 m above sea level?
