Lanarkshire Federation – Alnwick Barclay McCrindle make it four in a row

We arrive at Alnwick, Northumberland for a race of 89 miles back into lower Central Scotland, the modest birdage of 2,793 birds arrived nice and early and were liberated at 0630hrs into a light west wind. The winners hit the boards at 0826hrs recording 1338ypm. Again the brilliant part- nership of Barclay McCrindle & Son have blown away the competition, winning 1st, 2nd

& 3rd Open Federation 2,793 birds. Is there no end to their talents? That’s 4x1st Open Federations in four weeks racing, 100% strike rate. It’s magnificent racing and puts them ahead of 10,255 birds in four races. Twelve pigeons in the first 15 of the Section, half their team in top 33 of the Open. The cock pigeons finding their form this week. First Open ‘53289’ is from a direct son of Jan Hooymans ‘New Harry’, bred by Jan Hooymans x daughter of ‘Red Hall’, bred by Milly’s Loft. He won 26th Fed Wooler (1) 2,349 birds and 68th Federation 2,322 birds from Wooler (2). A full brother to ‘289’ won 1st UK, 5th Open 4,137 birds; 1st UK 24th Open 2,290 birds; 5th UK, 58th Open 4,397 birds, all in the Thailand Masters OLR Training races 2022/23.
