With the long-awaited arrival of spring, many of us are eager to clear out clutter. While some items can be sold at garage sales or donated to charity, others need proper disposal. Fortunately, the Byron EnviroDepot is back to its summer hours, making it easier to get rid of waste responsibly. The EnviroDepot, located at 1450 Oxford Street West, accepts a variety of items at no charge, including: · Blue box recyclables · Yard waste · Batteries · Scrap metal · Repairable bikes If you’re unsure where an item belongs, the Recycle Coach app can help determine what’s recyclable and how to dispose of hazardous or special waste. Need recycling or composting supplies? The depot offers: · Home composters/digesters – $20 each · Woodchips, compost, or soil/compost mix – $5 per 30L bag · Recycling bins – $10 each · Garbage tags – $2 each (required for extra curbside waste collection) · Electronics, TVs & monitors · Fluorescent bulbs and tubes · Fats, oils, and grease (FOG cups) Business awards
· Closed on remaining statutory holidays and Civic Holiday Additionally, a Goodwill Donation Centre is conveniently located next to the EnviroDepot for items in good condition.
