Academic Distinctions Our programs offer small, hands-on classes and a highly focused learning environment. s Embry-Riddle is home to the first College of Business, Security and Intelligence in the nation. s Uncrewed Systems, Space Physics, Global Security and Intelligence Studies, Emergency Services, Cyber Intelligence and Security, Aerospace Physiology, Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination, Space Operations and Human Factors Psychology are each one of only a handful of programs of their kind in the nation. s Our undergraduate engineering programs are ranked among the top in the nation by “U.S. News & World Report.” s Students can choose the right setting to achieve academic and career goals from our nationally recognized options, including two residential campuses or convenient online offerings. s Students have access to faculty who mentor and engage them in hands-on learning opportunities such as funded research projects and study abroad experiences.
Internships & Co-ops
Study Abroad We offer opportunities to study abroad for a summer, semester or year. Additional spring and winter programs may be offered as well. s Earn course credits toward your 4-year plan, degree program and graduation without missing a beat. Our courses count, so you won’t fall behind! s We have different ways you can go global: Exchange programs for a semester or year, summer programs, spring programs and more. s Exchange Programs: • Stay on track with your studies and enhance your employability and global footprint by studying abroad on exchange at one of our partner universities for a semester or year. • Available for all majors and minors, exchange programs allow you to utilize your scholarships and grants just as you would if you stayed on campus for a semester or year. s Earn credit towards your degree by spending a semester or year at our Singapore Campus or any of our partner universities in: • Hong Kong, Germany, the Czech Republic, France, Ireland, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, England, Spain, New Zealand, Australia, Greece, the Netherlands, Sweden and many more. s Looking for a shorter experience? Join our award-winning, short-term, faculty-led Study Abroad and Study America programs that offer students the opportunity to earn college credits. s A sample of the summer, spring and winter programs includes but is not limited to: • Aviation in Greece or Alaska • Uncrewed Systems in Argentina, working with cultural preservation and environmental topics • Business in Bali, Indonesia, Australia or Greece • Various engineering offerings in Spain and Italy • Air traffic management, an internationally award-winning program • Meteorology and physics in the Swiss Alps
Career services professionals with industry-specific specialties assist you in finding valuable educational experiences to add to your resume. s We partner with JetBlue on the University Gateway Program, one of 12 specialized programs that offer our Aeronautical Science students a defined path to a career as a pilot. We’ve also partnered with Delta Air Lines and SkyWest on innovative programs aimed at getting aviation students interviews for pilot positions. Both partnerships include pilot mentors. s We are now part of the United Airlines Aviate program, which creates even more opportunities for flight students to become first officers at the global carrier. s Global Security and Intelligence Studies and Homeland Security and Intelligence students intern at the FBI, CIA, DEA, Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security and Intelligence, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, as well as in emergency operations centers, sheriffs’ offices and police departments. s Internships can be paid positions with companies and may include benefits such as housing and relocation allowances. s Industry/Career Expos collectively bring 100+ companies and agencies to our campuses to interact with and recruit our residential and online students and alumni. s Students in any area of study can find cooperative education opportunities through the Center for Career and Professional Development and earn college credit as well as priceless work experience. Career Development s The Center for Career and Professional Development offers resume reviews and assistance with interviewing skills, setting up your LinkedIn profile and other career preparation activities. s Need help finding a career-boosting co-op or internship placement? The professionals at the Center can assist you. s Meet with hundreds of potential employers at one of our career expos held virtually or on a residential campus.
Projects & Competitions
Students at our campuses, including undergrads, collaborate in research and compete in prestigious national and international competitions, earning a long list of accolades: Embry-Riddle Awarded R-2 Status s The Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education has classified Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University as a Research 2 (R-2) institution. This classification is given to universities that devote significant resources to research and Ph.D. production, specifically those spending at least $5 million annually on research and awarding 20 doctorates each year. The R-2 classification reflects a major milestone for Embry‑Riddle, underscoring its strategic investments in research. NASA Selects Embry-Riddle to Lead Research Project s NASA selected an Embry-Riddle team to lead a $6.7 million research project to equip advanced air mobility aircraft with real-time response. The team is one of three selected by NASA. The three-year project aims to advance airborne transportation technology while providing career mentoring to team members. Collaborative and Dual Campus Team Competitions s Daytona Beach campus students took top honors at the 2024 AIAA Design/Build/Fly Competition in Wichita, Kansas, beating out 106 other teams from 92 universities. The Embry‑Riddle squad from the Prescott campus also placed in the top 10, earning eighth overall. The undergraduate teams had to design, build and test a remotely operated airplane for urban air mobility. s Rocketry — Teams from Daytona Beach and Prescott take part in a variety of national and global competitions. In 2023, a team from Prescott shattered several records and achieved the highest undergraduate and collegiate amateur liquid rocket launch in the United States. s Our flight teams have won the NIFA SAFECON national championship 17 times since 1992 and have an unbroken 38-year record as regional champions, with the Prescott Campus team recently winning the 2025 national championship. s Embry-Riddle’s College of Aviation Maintenance sent a team to PBExpo — a premier aviation and aerospace trade show. They were rewarded with seven podium finishes.
Dual Enrollment s Embry-Riddle’s renowned Dual
Enrollment program helps students develop the advanced critical thinking skills needed for continuing academic success while earning college credit in high school. The program is offered both online and at many high schools and features coursework that can be transferred to post-secondary schools. It provides unequaled STEM learning opportunities and potential tuition savings.
