Year 1
THIS WEEK IN... YEAR 1
MATHS: We have consolidated our learning on numbers to 10. We have ordered numbers, from most to least or first to third, considering place value. We have been introduced to the number line as a resource for finding missing numbers and writing numbers in the correct formation. Can you make and decorate your own number line to 10, making sure the numbers are written the correct way around?
LITERACY: We have explored a new story this week, called ‘Small Knight and George and the Royal Chocolate Cake’. We used interesting adjectives to describe the brigands and designed our own party invitations and delicious royal cakes. Can you remember some of the describing words we used? Perhaps you could bake a yummy cake and describe how it tastes and looks!
TOPIC: We loved our special visit from Mr Griffiths in Topic this week! We were busy learning all about how Medieval castles looked and worked collaboratively to label the features! Can I remember what the drawbridge was used for?
