GREENS CREEK OUTPUT HELPS HECLA TOP 17M OUNCES OF SILVER
Not including any gold produced at Casa Berardi up to the closing of the sale, which is expected before the end of March, Hecla expects to produce 15.1 million to 16.5 million ounces of silver and 51,000 to 55,000 ounces of gold in 2026. Half of Hecla's 2026 silver, along with all its non-Ca- sa Berardi gold, is slated to be produced at Greens Creek, the largest and lowest-cost silver-producing mine in North America. During 2025, Greens Creek produced 8.7 million ounces of silver and 59,349 ounces of gold, along with healthy quantities of zinc, lead and copper byproducts. This marks a 3% increase in silver and 7% increase in gold production, compared to 2024. Hecla attributes the increased precious metals output to increased grades, partially offset by slightly lower mill throughput. In today's metal price environment, the base metals more than pay for the silver produced at Greens
Creek. In other words, the company is getting paid for every ounce of silver produced at the Southeast Alaska mine. While the final tally of production costs for 2025 will not be available until Hecla reports its full-year financial and operational results, the company's cost guidance for 2026 provides insights into the expected costs at Greens Creek for the coming year. According to the 2026 cash cost guidance, the base metals will pay the mining costs plus pay $8.25 to $9 toward every ounce of silver and silver-equivalent gold produced. At all-in sustaining costs — which figures in things like corporate overhead, exploration, and rec- lamation — the base metals still pay all Greens Creek expenses. This makes the silver recovered at the mine pure profit. And Hecla expects to produce between 7.5 million to 8.1 million ounces of silver, along with 51,000 to 55,000 ounces of gold at Greens Creek this year.
Krcmarov. "We're now accelerating investments in our future — nearly doubling our investment in explora- tion and pre-development to a record $55 million – while maintaining the financial discipline that posi- tions us to generate substantial free cash flow." In addition to any free cash flow generated by Greens Creek, Lucky Friday, and the Keno Hill silver mine in the Yukon, the company is augmenting its treasury with up to $593 million it will receive through the sale of its Casa Berardi gold mine in Quebec to Orezone Gold Corp. "The sale of Hecla Quebec represents an important milestone in Hecla's transformation as we concen- trate capital allocation and operational focus on our world-class silver portfolio," Krcmarov said.
BY SHANE LASLEY Anchored by continued robust output at its Greens Creek mine in Southeast Alaska, Hecla Mining Company produced more than 17 million ounces of silver and 150,000 ounces of gold in 2025. With strong performance at all its North American operations, including exceeding annual production guidance at the Lucky Friday mine in Idaho, Hecla tested the upper limits of the production guidance it set out at the onset of 2025. "Our 2025 results demonstrate operational excel- lence, with 17 million ounces of silver production and every primary silver operation meeting or exceeding guidance," said Hecla Mining President and CEO Rob
