DR. TALBOT'S QUESTION BOX (Continued from Page 15) What is meant by “Mystery, Babylon the Great” as described in Revelation 17, 18? This is a description of apostate Chris tendom during the reign of the Anti christ. After the true church is trans lated, professing Christendom will be united in one great body. All true be lievers will by that time be “with the Lord.” But those who* are Christian only in name will form a religious confed eracy, called in Revelation 17:5 “ The Mother of Harlots,” in contrast with the true Bride of Christ, which is the church. For a time this false system will make a great show of their godless, Christ-less profession. They will be in league- with the Antichrist, the beast. Then he will turn on this “mother of harlots” and de • vour her, as described in these chapters of Revelation. What will become of the Jewish na tion after the millennium? Where will they dwell? They will be in the new earth. Read carefully Isaiah 66:22, “ For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.” National distinction among saved Gen tile nations will pass, but Israel will re main the memorial nation. How do you explain Paul’s experience as described in Second Corinthians 12:19? When Paul was “ caught up to the third heaven . . . into paradise,” that experience was doubtless a part of God’s special revelation to him. To Paul was given the special revelation concerning the church, which had hither to not been revealed. Some Bible students think this experience of Second Corin thians 12 may have occurred when Paul was stoned at Lystra, and left for dead. (See Acts 14:19.) Whether at that time, or on some other occasion, Paul was certainly given a glimpse of Heaven, that he might be prepared for his great ministry. However, such experiences are not given to God’s people today. We must ever remember that at the time of Paul’s experience the Bible was in the process of formation, and God’s revelation was not then complete. But we have the full revelation of God as found in His Word, and are called to walk by faith, not by sight. M A R C H . 1 9 5 0
