April 9, 1950 "I AM THE RESURRECTION" John 11:11-27 As in the world of nature, so in the spiritual realm we find that there is life after death. The seed is planted and out of the death of that seed the stalk rises. At the foot of every stalk of wheat there is a tiny grave. Out of the death of the acorn the oak tree rises. So with the death of the Saviour, Christ Jesus our Lord, there comes forth a multitude of others whose lives are similar to His life. He laid down His life that we might take it up and have it for time and eternity. Those Who Belong To Christ Will Be Raised To Live With Christ 1 Cor. 15:23 The kind of life that belongs to Christ Jesus is the very same kind in essence that is given to the believers in Christ. It is the gift of God to the trusting heart. It is a blessing received immedi ately when the lost person trusts the Saviour. It was not possible for Christ to be holden in death. Neither will it be possible for the believer who has the same kind of life to be held in death. The resurrection of Christ is a sample and a proof of the resurrection of every one who belongs to Him and is related to Him by eternal life. Those Who Belong To Christ Will Bear His Likeness 1 John 3:2 When the grain of wheat is planted the crop it produces will consist of the same kind of grains of wheat. When an apple seed is planted, the tree that grows will bear the same kind of apples. Like produces like. When Christ dwells in our hearts by faith, then there appears in our lives something of the ways and the will of that loving Lord. After death each believer is conformed to the image of Christ and made to be like that per fect Man, Christ Jesus. His life in us guarantees that we shall some day be altogether like Him. Those Who Belong To Christ Will Live Somewhat As He Lived John 14:12 The seeds of the grape will bring forth a plant that will climb and will produce grapes. Tomato seeds will pro duce a low plant on which tomatoes will develop. Hollyhock seeds will produce stalks on which hollyhock blossoms will appear. The plant takes its character istics from the kind of seed that is planted. Christ was the Seed. Those who receive eternal life from Him find a way of life which conforms to His way, and have desires implanted in their hearts which originated in His great heart of love. Those Who Belong To Christ Will Be Useful As He Was Useful 1 Cor. 15:37 The farmer plants his grain in order (Continued on Page 22) M A R C H , 1 9 5 0

A PRINCE AND A SAVIOUR A Hindu woman discovered that she was a great sinner and that God is holy and cannot pass by sin. She often said, “ I fieed some very great prince to stand between my soul and God.” After a little while she heard that the Bible contained the account of a Saviour who died for sinners. So she asked a pundit to read the Bible to her. He began at the 1st chapter of Matthew, and as he read the list of names in the geneal ogy of Christ, the woman thought, “What a wonderful Prince this Jesus must be to have such a long line of ancestors.” And when the pundit read, “ Thou shalt call His name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their sins,” the woman exclaimed, “ Ah, this is the Prince I want! This is the Prince I want!” —Gospel Herald

My Neighbor's Bible

I am my neighbor’s Bible; He reads me when we meet; Today he reads me in my home; Tomorrow in the street. He may be relative or friend; Or slight acquaintance be; He may not even know my name; Yet he is reading me. Dear Christian friends and brothers, If you and I but knew, How faithfully the world records Just what we say and do, Oh! we would make our record plain, And labor hard to see Our worldly neighbors won to Christ, While reading you and me. —Author Unknown
