– Letimo u standardnoj
August is a month of summer holidays, so we presu- me people mostly fly to some seaside destinations. Which of those are your favourites? “Our passengers love Greek beaches. Air Serbia has this summer established a route to Mykonos. Apart from this island, I would also highlight the small exotic island of Skiathos. The advan- tage of being a pilot is that we get to see many destinations from a bird's eye view, and thus we experience them differently. Spain and Portugal are destinations that are dear to me personally.” What’s the difference between a pilot and a first of- ficer? “We fly with a standard crew
posadi koju čine kapetan i prvi oficir, odnosno kopilot.
of captain and first officer. The captain is aircraft leader and the first officer is second in com- mand. We agree for each flight and each flight section who will be the pilot responsible for flying (Pilot Flying) and who will assist (Pilot Monitoring). In a formal sense, passengers can tell who’s who: the captain has epaulettes with four stripes, a senior first of- ficer has three stripes, while a junior first officer has two stripes. I’m a junior first officer for now.” Why did you choose the Airbus specifically as your workplace? “I wanted to fly the Airbus A320 because of the circumstan- ces of my upbringing. My father is a pilot who started his career at JAT – aboard a Boeing 737. My older brother was later also employed at Air Serbia and now works at our airline as a senior first officer on
A330s. I completed the pilot academy in Vršac, satisfied all com- pany requirements and was selected for the A320. I had my trai- ning in Prague and began my supervised flight training after ear- ning my authorisation. I’m particularly grateful to the company for allowing my brother – who was then also an A320 first officer – to be the safety pilot on my inaugural flight.”
