Apicectomy
 Initial situation.
A semilunar flap was used to minimise gingival recession, although soft tissue scarring may occur. Buccal bone was minimally removed, the cystic lesion thoroughly curetted, and a small apicectomy performed with a straight Lindemann bur followed by ultrasonic root-end preparation.
The surgical area was treated with Oral Gel for five minutes, then irrigated with sterile saline.
After retrograde filling with MTA, the site was grafted with a synthetic bone substitute.
