San Antonio Enhancements Give Us Top-Notch Facility CURB APPEAL IN THE ALAMO CITY
We’ve nearly completed a 40-door cross-dock expansion that increases our door count to 78. Also wrapping up soon is an 85,000-square-foot warehouse that will open new doors to business opportunities. Other enhancements coming to San Antonio: • A parking expansion that will more than double our associate and equipment spaces • Driver Support Center with amenities for our over-the-road drivers • Brand-new maintenance shop • Upgraded truck wash with undercarriage capabilities • A two-bay fuel island to replace our current one-bay setup
We're nearing completion on enhancements to our San Antonio facility, including the addition of an 85,000-square-foot warehouse.
of Mexico Sales ED HABE . “The San Antonio expansion allows us to provide additional options to customers looking to ship to and from Mexico, complementing the many solutions we have been offering at our Laredo facility for more than 25 years, as well as Del Rio and Eagle Pass in Texas.” Ed adds, “San Antonio is an alternative for those looking to bypass the already congested border area." POTENTIAL POWER OF ONE SOLUTIONS David is excited about the potential of these new amenities because they give us the capability of introducing customers to a wide variety of services. “We’ll have Truckload out of Mexico and LTL out of Mexico,” he says. “And we’ll have pool distribution, Truckload and/or LTL out of the warehouse. The warehouse should drive all our services – obviously Distribution & Fulfillment, but it should drive Truckload, LTL, Expedited, etc. And I think we’ll see more business off the ports, leading to more bill count for our team.” We look forward to seeing how our enhanced San Antonio facilities help our entire network grow. And we want to say a special thank you to our associates there – and throughout our service area – who earn our customers’ trust each day. Your efforts are the reason we’re able to celebrate this success! T m
All told, we anticipate having the full project completed by March of 2025.
UNMATCHED FACILITIES “Everybody’s looking forward to it,” beams San Antonio Service Center Director DAVID PARRISH . “It’s going to be very impressive. With the new signage, there’s nobody in this market who will have anything close to as nice and project the type of image that we will. It will be something everybody will notice and everyone can be proud of.” Region 6 Vice President CALVIN RACKLEY says enhancements like these point back to the efforts of our team. “What makes me proud is our San Antonio associates have earned these new resources with growth and positive trends,” he says. “That has allowed us to build this fantastic facility.” STRATEGIC CORRIDOR With the amount of cross-border transportation that takes places just a few hours down Interstate 35 in Laredo, our San Antonio project is certainly a strategic one. "Mexico is the United States’ No. 1 trade partner,” explains Vice President
LOOKING AHEAD IN TYLER Celebrating A Grand Opening At New Facility
Also in Texas, we recently opened a new service center in Tyler! As part of the grand opening of this facility, placed a time capsule in one of the building's walls that will provide associates of future generations a glimpse of our team in 2024. “The thought behind the time capsule was that we wanted to let future associates know we were thinking of them,” says transportation specialist DEBRA LEGATE . “We want them to appreciate how our culture has never changed through the last 53 years. And when they open the capsule on our
75th anniversary, the Averitt culture will still be strong.” We’re excited to celebrate our new Tyler service center, and our enhancements there are part of our continuing commitment to give associates the best amenities while putting us in position for future growth! T m

RESPONDING TOGETHER
CHARITIES
Teamwork Helps Us Respond In Wake Of Hurricane Helene
In the aftermath of the recent Hurricane Helene – especially in East Tennessee and Western North Carolina – our associates have shown once again what makes our team culture so unique. Thankfully, all of our associates were accounted for, with most avoiding major damage to their homes. Additionally, all of our facilities avoided major damage. And because of your continued support and participation in Averitt Cares for Kids and Team Up Community Challenge activities, we were able to extend a helping hand to those in need. In response to the devastation and flooding, Averitt Charities donated $100,000 to Samaritan’s Purse . You also showed how we come together for a common cause through our bottled water and wet wipes collections. We encouraged associates throughout our network to participate, and did you ever deliver. Combined, we collected more than 611,000 pounds of bottled water and wet wipes that were distributed to Asheville associates and community members in need. Thank you for stepping up when our teammates and communities needed it most. Your commitment to helping people is what makes our team such a special one to be part of! T m
Many of our teams have combined to provide supplies for people affected by the recent hurricanes.

Eric came to Averitt in 1996 as a part-time dock associate while he was in college. When he graduated, he went full time at our Nashville facility as a weight & research associate. After he started a family, Eric moved to Cookeville in 2002 as a member of Central Dispatch, where he served until 2006. He was then a fleet manager for about five years before moving back to Nashville. He worked on the dock there for a time until being promoted to frontline leader, a role he served in for close to five years. In 2019, Eric transferred to his current sales role. “I think it’s fair to say that Averitt has a knack for putting people in positions where they can excel,” Eric says. “And it’s a caring company. There were times that I moved to different positions. When I moved to Cookeville, it was for family reasons. I wanted my son to grow up around his family, and Averitt was able to accommodate that and allow me to have another position to learn and grow in.” That’s part of the reason Eric has chosen to make Averitt his career home. “The biggest thing is our culture. It’s the people you work with,” he explains. “I hear horror stories from people who work for other companies, and I’m thinking, ‘We’re not like that at all.’ I think that’s a reason we have so many people who are members of our Over 20 Team. That’s almost unheard of anymore that people work for a company and stay there for that length of time. It’s just a great place to work and great people to work with.” WILLINGNESS, FLEXIBILITY AND LEARNING Eric says several actions have helped him take advantage of career opportunities – being willing to step into new positions, being flexible with his work schedule through the years, and learning every role to the best of his ability. “Averitt will give you the opportunity to learn and grow,” Eric says. And because of his personal growth, Eric has enjoyed a long run with our team. “It seems like it was yesterday I started at Averitt,” he says. “Then I blinked, and it’s been 25 years full time. It's been a great ride, and there’s OPPORTUNITIES TO FIT YOUR SITUATION Like many other associates throughout our network, Nashville transportation specialist ERIC WILSON has found there are plenty of career opportunities to fit whatever situation you may be in. Cracker Barrel Driver Tops 10 Miles Per Gallon For Dedicated driver MIKE DAVENPORT, what started as an effort to make sure he got to his next fuel stop has turned into a pursuit of outstanding fuel efficiency. Mike – who has been with Averitt for close to 18 years – is a longtime driver for our Cracker Barrel account. His current route takes him on three loads per week – two local and one to the Philadelphia area. “One morning I was on Interstate 81 in Virginia, and I was low on fuel because I didn’t get a chance to get fuel where I normally did the day before,” Mike recalls. “I thought, ‘I know where I want to stop, but I’m going to have to be careful and keep a watch on my fuel.’ So I set my cruise control on 61 that morning. I started looking at my fuel mileage, and it went up to 9.3, 9.4, and I’m in the hills in Virginia with a load. By the time I got to my fuel stop, I was at 9.5. “I didn’t know that was possible,” Mike exclaims. FRIENDLY COMPETITION That achievement sparked an idea that Mike passed along to Site Manager CAMRON COKER . Mike suggested that Camron post mileage totals, and Camron implemented the idea. Cracker Barrel drivers can now see how their numbers stack up against fellow teammates – they’re shown by driver number so everyone remains anonymous, while still fostering a friendly competition. “I thought, ‘What can I do to help?’” says Mike, who is also a driver-trainer. “I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I love the Cracker Barrel account and always have. I want to make sure that when Cracker Barrel thinks about who is delivering the product, they always think Averitt.” (CRUISE) CONTROL WHAT WE CAN CONTROL
What's Cracker Barrel driver MIKE DAVENPORT'S secret to better fuel efficiency? Setting the cruise and keeping it there.
TURN IT UP TO 11? The best total Mike has achieved so far during a workweek is 10.1 miles per gallon. That success is a result of fine-tuning his strategy to dial down his speed while still staying on time. And for Mike, the results have been nothing short of amazing. “I started doing 64 miles per hour on the cruise,” Mike explains. “A couple weeks later, I thought, ‘Let’s see what 63 will do. Can I stay on time?’ I got down to where I could make it work at 62 miles per hour. And it was less stressful because 99% of the time, I’m not passing anyone so I’m just enjoying the ride. But I am staying on time, and it’s safer.” DOLLAR DOLLAR BILLS, Y’ALL Mike is spreading the word about the benefits of using cruise control when it’s safe to do so. “I tell everybody I can find, especially my trainees, that it’s a lot less stressful when you do it this way,” he says. “And we’re getting more Profit Sharing , not to mention that we should just want to do a good job to begin with. It all fell in place after that one morning, and I’ve been trying to tackle it ever since.” Mike adds with a laugh, “Hopefully other people will get on board with it, because I sure do like that Profit Sharing!” Remember that usage of cruise control should only be done when road and traffic conditions permit. Maintain full attention of the roadway and be prepared to brake and/or steer if necessary. T m

TRANSPARENCY AND HONESTY
When MICHAEL SANDERS came to Averitt in 2019 as a city driver, he wanted a different experience from what he had with his previous carrier and as an owner-operator. What he’s seen has been so good that he’s helped several people get hired through People Like You referrals. “I saw how Averitt treated me,” recalls Michael, who was promoted to his current position as frontline leader about three years ago. “And from that point, I just wanted other people to feel what I felt.” ‘YOU KNOW HOW I GET DOWN’ Michael has recently had lots of referral success, with four People Like You hires in 2024 alone. “The ones I’ve referred here lately are people I know personally. They know me. And I tell them, ‘You know how I get down,’” Michael explains with a laugh. “I want to make sure I don’t bring on anybody who is lazy or won’t listen. I want people who have an open mind.” Michael’s referrals have found out that he knows what he’s talking about when it comes to the Averitt experience. “I’ve got people here now who have come up to me and said, ‘I didn’t think it was going to be like this. I should have come sooner,’” Michael says. “And I tell them, ‘I’ve been trying to tell you!’” A KEEN EYE Whether it’s people he knows or those who work for other carriers, Michael is very open with them about what to expect. “I'm looking for people who are hungry and are willing to do the job and make Averitt the best, just like it is,” says Michael, who employs a mix of Charlotte Frontline Leader Builds Averitt With People Like You Referrals

FIVE TIMES THE RECOGNITION
One goal of the Women In Trucking Association is to ensure each workplace is an exceptional one for women in all roles. And for the fifth consecutive year, WIT has recognized Averitt as a leader in doing that! Our team was once again named as one of the Top Companies For Women To Work For In Transportation. According to Women In Trucking, the winners are companies that support gender diversity through “flexible hours and work requirements to accommodate family and life balance, competitive compensation and benefits, training and continued professional development, and career advancement opportunities.” The selection process was an extensive one. Nominations were reviewed based on those criteria, then they were put to a vote among transportation industry professionals. More than 31,000 people made their selections to determine the top companies for women. “We’re proud to be a team that offers women a variety of roles that fit Women In Trucking Honors Averitt For Fifth Consecutive Year

Our teammates in Harlingen are no strangers to giving back to their community. Under the guidance of Service Center Director ART LEAL , the Harlingen team has had high participation rates in their recent Team Up Community Challenge efforts. Art hints at the cultural influence ingrained in the people of Harlingen as a driving factor. “We're the southern-most service center and the closest to the U.S.-Mexico border,” says Art. “We do have a very strong culture of people that like giving back and doing stuff like this. It’s companywide, and it’s no different here.” Between their annual breakfast for the homeless and their Christmas donation event, Harlingen associates found a new way to help through the Averitt for Animals Team Up project for all Texas associates. After a few meetings, it became clear the prospect of helping the community’s pets got the team very excited.
“We had over 90% participation, but that is the norm here. Our associates want to be part of giving back to the community.
of getting these animals into proper homes where they can be cared for. He also expressed his deep gratitude for their selfless generosity. With a newfound joy in helping the community improve the care for the potential pets of the area, Art and his team continue to build a culture of giving to their community. Rest assured Averitt for Animals is another tool in their belt for serving Harlingen. “This is a lot different than a homeless shelter or gifts for kids. You have a lot of dogs that need to be rescued, need to be adopted,” says Art. “It was a great event. We will do it again. I could not be happier with the turnout and the team effort that we have here.” T m
That is the team that we have here,” says Art. The event entailed partnering with a local organization called the Brownsville Animal Defense Adoption Center, a nonprofit organization that provides shelter for animals in need. The Harlingen team was able to gather an abundance of supplies, including puppy pads, cleaning products and food. With further coordination between frontline leader DIONICIO JARAMILLO and transportation specialist HOMERO VILLARREAL , the team pulled up to the shelter in an Averitt truck and trailer full of supplies and an eager team of smiling associates.
