San Antonio Enhancements Give Us Top-Notch Facility CURB APPEAL IN THE ALAMO CITY
We’ve nearly completed a 40-door cross-dock expansion that increases our door count to 78. Also wrapping up soon is an 85,000-square-foot warehouse that will open new doors to business opportunities. Other enhancements coming to San Antonio: • A parking expansion that will more than double our associate and equipment spaces • Driver Support Center with amenities for our over-the-road drivers • Brand-new maintenance shop • Upgraded truck wash with undercarriage capabilities • A two-bay fuel island to replace our current one-bay setup
We're nearing completion on enhancements to our San Antonio facility, including the addition of an 85,000-square-foot warehouse.
of Mexico Sales ED HABE . “The San Antonio expansion allows us to provide additional options to customers looking to ship to and from Mexico, complementing the many solutions we have been offering at our Laredo facility for more than 25 years, as well as Del Rio and Eagle Pass in Texas.” Ed adds, “San Antonio is an alternative for those looking to bypass the already congested border area." POTENTIAL POWER OF ONE SOLUTIONS David is excited about the potential of these new amenities because they give us the capability of introducing customers to a wide variety of services. “We’ll have Truckload out of Mexico and LTL out of Mexico,” he says. “And we’ll have pool distribution, Truckload and/or LTL out of the warehouse. The warehouse should drive all our services – obviously Distribution & Fulfillment, but it should drive Truckload, LTL, Expedited, etc. And I think we’ll see more business off the ports, leading to more bill count for our team.” We look forward to seeing how our enhanced San Antonio facilities help our entire network grow. And we want to say a special thank you to our associates there – and throughout our service area – who earn our customers’ trust each day. Your efforts are the reason we’re able to celebrate this success! T m
All told, we anticipate having the full project completed by March of 2025.
UNMATCHED FACILITIES “Everybody’s looking forward to it,” beams San Antonio Service Center Director DAVID PARRISH . “It’s going to be very impressive. With the new signage, there’s nobody in this market who will have anything close to as nice and project the type of image that we will. It will be something everybody will notice and everyone can be proud of.” Region 6 Vice President CALVIN RACKLEY says enhancements like these point back to the efforts of our team. “What makes me proud is our San Antonio associates have earned these new resources with growth and positive trends,” he says. “That has allowed us to build this fantastic facility.” STRATEGIC CORRIDOR With the amount of cross-border transportation that takes places just a few hours down Interstate 35 in Laredo, our San Antonio project is certainly a strategic one. "Mexico is the United States’ No. 1 trade partner,” explains Vice President
LOOKING AHEAD IN TYLER Celebrating A Grand Opening At New Facility
Also in Texas, we recently opened a new service center in Tyler! As part of the grand opening of this facility, placed a time capsule in one of the building's walls that will provide associates of future generations a glimpse of our team in 2024. “The thought behind the time capsule was that we wanted to let future associates know we were thinking of them,” says transportation specialist DEBRA LEGATE . “We want them to appreciate how our culture has never changed through the last 53 years. And when they open the capsule on our
75th anniversary, the Averitt culture will still be strong.” We’re excited to celebrate our new Tyler service center, and our enhancements there are part of our continuing commitment to give associates the best amenities while putting us in position for future growth! T m
