Stacked Skips - Empty ONLY
Stacked empty skips – strapped top down.
• You can only carry stacked empty skips on a dedicated skip vehicle if: • They are nested. • The lift chains are attached to all skips possible. • The midpoint of the upper most skip is no higher than the height of the lift arms in the stowed position. • The stack is secured with at least two lashings. • Two skips – if stacked height lower than stowed lorry arms and chains can be attached to both skips to secure. • More than two skips must be strapped as there are not enough skip chains on each lorry to attached to all the skips. • Lashings must secure all skips when stacked from the top down. If two skips, which when stacked are higher than stowed arms or driver is unable to attach chains to both skips then the ratchet straps must be used.
10/12/14yd skips strapped due to being higher than the stowed arms.
• Two (10/12/14 yard) skips are permitted providing they are lashed with two straps. • Straps are secured behind skip lugs.
The company will not permit the stacking of more than 4 empty skips providing they are securely strapped to the vehicle.
