Vehicle movements/collisions with vehicles property
• All static compactors must be sheeted, and pallet wrap used to secure any loose material around the edges. • If manual sheeting is required, this must be done with the container on the ground at all times and operator on the ground. Use ropes to pull sheet over. • When the container is on the vehicle bed, locking pins must be in the Locked position and the container fully forward. Warning devices fitted in vehicle cab. • When no container is on the vehicle the lifting hook must be stowed in the loaded position. • Handbrake to be applied when loading/unloading taking place and vehicle in neutral gear. • NEVER climb on loads, either on the floor or on vehicle bed. • Only inspect loads if the container is fitted with an inspection ladder. Use three points of contact. • Secure the sheeting system with bungie cord and use a sheeting pole to fasten the sheet in place. • Sheeting pole can be used to removed loose material, overhanging. Driver to wear a hard hat when doing so. • Report defective bins. • Report defect sheets and sheeting systems.
