• Always check the rear of the vehicle after tipping for damage and make sure you clear any debris that could fall from the vehicle in transit.
False engagement of the tipping hooks – SKIPS
• Before you commence tipping you must check that the rear skip tipping hooks are engaged correctly with the tipping bars and not with any other part of the container
False engagement of the Goose Neck Hook – Roro Only •
Before commencing a lift, the driver is to check that the hook is fully engaged on the container bale bar and no other part of the container. A small test lift should be completed and then inspected with the container just off the ground.

Lifting of skips by crane

All skips suitable for lifting are checked prior to delivery and are on the LOLER register. Inspected by a contractor 6 monthly.
• Customer to not overfill skips but only load to companies’ recommendations. • Only permitted skips to be lifted by crane • Skip to be inspected prior to delivery. No defective skips to be used. • All crane suitable skips to be LOLER tested 6 monthly. • No other skips permitted for lifting.
Removed from service if defective.
