The hazard/risk assessment process focuses on identifying possible hazards caused by malfunctioning behavior of E/E safety-related systems & mitigating them through safety goals. The design phase includes System, Hardware, & Software development with requirements from the safety goals. ISO 26262 also prescribes the management activities performed during the safety life cycle & supports distributed development. Vocabulary is defined in context of the standard with a list of acronyms.
