Goal 1 Safety First Implement measures to reduce crashes and eliminate fatalities and serious injuries across all modes. Build a culture of safety through city policies, strategic partnerships and public communication. Design roadways and intersections that account for human mistakes and vulnerability. OBJECTIVES Implement speed management strategies and safe infrastructure design to support safer travel speeds.

Goal 2 Fix It First

Goal 3 Human Comfort

A well-functioning transportation network is only as strong as the policies, programs, and investments that sustain it. This chapter translates the MTP’s physical framework into action, organized around six community- driven goals that define what Fort Worth’s transportation system should achieve and for whom. Each goal is supported by objectives and Big Ideas that shaped the nine recommendation areas on the pages that follow. 2.1. Goals, Objectives, and Big Ideas The recommendations in this plan are grounded in six goals developed through the public engagement process. These goals reflect what Fort Worth residents, businesses, and partner agencies identified as the outcomes that matter most, from eliminating traffic fatalities and preserving existing infrastructure, to advancing technology, supporting economic growth, and ensuring equitable access for all. Each goal is supported by objectives that define how it will be achieved, and Big Ideas, the specific projects, policies, and initiatives that translate those objectives into action. Together, they provide the strategic framework that connects community priorities to the recommendations and capital investments that follow.

Prioritize cost-effective maintenance and lifecycle planning to preserve existing assets.

Create a convenient, connected, and environmentally considerate network that empowers choice.
