3.1. Introduction The MTP planning initiative began in the Summer of 2024. MTP outcomes and recommendations were informed by technical analysis exploring: ■ Existing performance of City of Fort Worth’s roadway network ■ Identification of a city-wide gap and needs assessment ■ Review of proposed projects’ impact on system performance
The MTP Planning Process, as illustrated in Figure 3.1 , outlines how the City defined its vision and goals, evaluates existing conditions, identifies gaps and needs, develops performance metrics, and shapes the capital projects that form the TIP. This process makes recommendations transparent, consistent, and aligned with City policies and funding realities.
Public outreach and engagement activities were integrated throughout the planning effort to gather input on transportation goals, priorities, and project ideas. Feedback collected through in-person and digital touchpoints helped shape a TIP that reflects the needs and aspirations of Fort Worth residents.
