Economic Assets or Hubs Economic hubs within the study area , which are illustrated in Figure 4.6 , include DFW Airport, Alliance logistics zone, CentrePort, Meacham Airport, and major employers like Lockheed Martin and Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway. These hubs are essential for freight and passenger movement, reinforcing Fort Worth’s role in regional and national transportation networks ■ Central Area : High-density development with significant congestion and multimodal infrastructure. It serves as a cultural and economic center with strong transit and pedestrian activity. ■ Auto-Oriented Areas : Rapidly growing, requiring expanded roadways and transit services. Infrastructure is often lagging behind development. ■ ETJ/Rural Areas : Characterized by low-density development and limited infrastructure. PSAs are planned to guide future investments. ■ Economic Hubs : Includes DFW Airport, Alliance logistics zone, and Downtown. These hubs are vital for freight, passenger movement, and regional economic growth.
