Targeted Intersection Operational Analysis Several intersections were identified as critical locations where projected growth and emerging travel patterns create operational challenges that influence broader corridor performance. To better understand these locations and to support near-term decision- making, targeted intersection analyses were completed for two key sites: Old Denton Road at Westport Parkway, as shown in Figure 8.7 , and Chapin Road at Chapel Creek Boulevard, as shown in Figure 8.8 . At both locations, existing two-way stop control is not expected to accommodate future traffic demand. The analysis reviewed a range of improvement options and found that signalization, combined with added turn-lane capacity, provides reliable operations under future-year conditions. These improvements offer practical, cost-effective solutions that support safety, freight movement, and overall network performance.
